Multi-year renewal with the largest ILEC continues to provide services to businesses and government entities; offers options-not an ultimatum

Quincy, Massachusetts--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a leading provider of communications solutions for businesses and government agencies in North America, announced the extension of its existing commercial wholesale agreement with one ILEC until mid-2026, and another ILEC By 2024.

Granite pioneered the "one-stop communication solution" model and has always been a leader in helping small businesses and Fortune 100 companies grow and grow. The expanded wholesale agreement will benefit many companies and government agencies that continue to require traditional TDM services. Some equipment or processes operated by TDM users—such as FAA's radar systems, elevator systems, or vault alarms—are designed to run on TDM and are difficult to reconfigure or replace. Other TDM users plan to migrate to IP for professional lines, but currently lack the funds and time required to organize and execute IP conversion. For some people in rural areas or other places, coaxial cable or optical fiber does not make economic sense, and TDM-over-copper continues to provide acceptable services at an appropriate price. Granite recognizes that companies and government entities sometimes need to deploy new technologies on different schedules.

"Over the years, Granite's long-term partnership with these ILECs has brought great value-most important to our customers, who have entrusted us to provide critical network connections that promote growth and create jobs," Granite President and CEO Rob Hale said. "Although IP solutions are clearly the future trend, we believe that removing the proven cost-saving TDM connection is not the right answer for every business in every location. We believe in providing customers with choices, not ultimatums."

For business entities and government agencies seeking next-generation technologies, Granite has become a leader in industry innovation. Earlier this year, Granite completed the acquisition of EPIK, a patented and approved device that supports many features and functions that IP devices usually cannot handle. Granite also provides customers with a range of other POTS alternatives, including wired voice services in collaboration with major cable providers, managed IP solutions, wireless options, and fiber-optic IP services, including services provided using next-generation ILEC networks.

Granite provides a one-stop communications solution for multi-site businesses and government agencies in the United States and Canada. This $1.65 billion company serves more than two-thirds of the Fortune 100 companies in the United States and manages 1.75 million voice and data lines. Granite was launched in 2002 and has grown rapidly by helping companies simplify the procurement and management of local and long-distance phone services, providing one point of contact and one invoice for all locations across the country. Today, Granite is the leader in the aggregation of plain old telephone services (POTS) and has expanded its unique value proposition-"One company, one contact, one bill"-including a series of advanced business communication services, including Internet access, SD-WAN, wireless WAN, managed PBX, SIP trunking, mobile voice and data, mobile device management, managed security, network integration, etc. Granite has more than 2,400 employees at its headquarters in Quincy, Massachusetts and nine regional offices across the country.
